This is a very common issue Users encounter in Telephone Activation Licenses.

The old version of Office is still showing despite a fresh installation.

If an unauthorized version of Office was previously installed, it may prevent certain options from appearing even after uninstallation.

Additionally, if a user successfully installs the fresh version, the old version might still be visible in the account due to illegitimate registry traces. Please download and install Geek Uninstaller  from here ,

Open the geek uninstaller & search for Office, left-click on it, and select “Force Removal” & once it is uninstalled please restart the system

Critical Removal-

Sometimes, Users had previously installed KMS( Key Management System)/ Pirated license activator   on the system, which license cannot be easily removed and can prove to be a tricky case (even after using the Geek Uninstaller)

Users might face frustration while repeatedly attempting uninstallation, only to find that the old version continues to appear in their account.

Multiple versions may appear, and in the worst case, they may not see the necessary steps for installation or activation. Sometimes, this can prevent the license input window from appearing due to illegitimate system bypass methods.

We have a solution for this as well.

Open Cmd in Administrator then copy paste the below command.

for opening CMD as ADMIN right click on CMD and then select “run as admin”

To check if the CMD is correctly opened in Administrator , the directly will show like this C:\Windows\System32>

There are two methods, as sometimes either of these may not work, so try them one by one.

With the first command, it will show the last five characters of the license. Once the user identifies those five characters, they need to copy and paste the second command, replacing XXXXX with the last five characters they identified.

Method one (Copy First Command to identify the license and Second Command to remove the unwanted  license)

cscript “%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs” /dstatus

cscript “%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs” /unpkey:XXXXX

Method two (Copy First Command to identify the license and Second Command to remove the unwanted  license)

cscript “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs” /dstatus

cscript “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs” /Unpkey:XXXXX

Difference between Online , Telephone & Email Bind Office  Licenses.

Basically, the product and its features are the same across all the licenses. The only variation lies in the initial activation method. After activation, the product remains the same.

The major difference arises when you reinstall Office on the same machine or a different one. Let us explain how.

Online License: If you have purchased this License then you can instantly activate it by internet.

Once installed on one PC or laptop, this license cannot be used on any other machine.

Telephone License: This license requires an additional process: a telephone call after inputting the license for activation. This doesn’t mean you cannot use this version without  an internet connection.

it only means that the initial activation process requires a telephone call after inputting the license key after activation you can enjoy all office features without any issues.

Once installed on one PC or laptop, this license cannot be used on any other machine.

Email Bind License: This type allows users to manage licensing and support primarily through email correspondence. In Simple Words the license will attach with the user email ID .

Once the license is redeemed on your Microsoft account, you won’t need to enter the license key in the future. Instead, you can simply log in with the email ID where you redeemed your license.

Such licenses do not have restrictions tied to a specific system. For example, if a user uninstalls Office from one system, they can reinstall it on another system and use it with the same email where the license was redeemed.
